I don’t have enough time. For the month of August, I have committed to writing a daily blog that shares different successes and challenges I have had as a small business owner. Why do I have time to do this daily? Because it is a priority.

I Don’t Have Enough Time! The biggest complaint I hear from new business owners and people in general is that they never have enough time to get everything done. Just like everything we do, running a business takes time but more importantly it takes prioritizing and organizing.

I like to use my own example – yesterday, Monday, I never schedule appointments. I do that intentionally so I can schedule my week and get a jump on everything I need to do. Jack, my partner, had a video shoot at our studio in Delray Beach and the client needed was also starting a brand new business, where they would need branding, a website, SEO, ongoing content creation and more. I made an exception to my own rule and met with him. In doing that, I didn’t get everything done that I had on my schedule.

Is this the worst thing in the world? Absolutely not! I rarely make exceptions to my own guidelines. I give this example for a reason. If I made exceptions on a weekly basis then I would not own my schedule, it would own me. The goal is to educate the clients and potential clients how to work with us. While the work is all about the client and their goals, the how is about us and our goals.

I cringe when I hear the words, “I don’t have enough time.” We have more than enough time for what we prioritize. If your health is a priority, you have time to workout. If your clients are a priority, you have time for them; if your family is a priority, you have time for them.

What are your priorities? What you prioritize, you achieve. What will that be for you?
