Consistency in action! Sometimes those little steps in life or business don’t seem like I am doing enough but compounded over time those little steps add up to be great things! For the month of August, I have committed to writing a daily blog that shares different successes and challenges I have had as a small business owner. That’s what it takes to be an entrepreneur.

Have you ever had one of those days when you felt like you were all over the place and accomplished nothing? Meetings, phone calls, work, filming, and more. By the end of today, I looked at everything and wondered what did I really accomplish. In reality, I accomplished a lot! I walked 3+ miles in the morning; attended an early morning networking group; confirmed with a new client and set up our first meeting for tomorrow; continued working on a six-month review for a client; met with another client for updates; called my mother to wish her a happy birthday; scheduled another podcast shoot for next week; did some daily tasks that I do for clients; and filmed a new episode for my podcast. When I recap the day like this, I see all that I accomplished but I feel it’s not enough when I do a little bit of everything during the day.

High achieving entrepreneurs are often harder on themselves than a “normal” person. I know exactly what I accomplish and what it takes to continue at a high level. What does it take to achieve more? Consistency in action. It’s taking small steps each and every day to achieve the goals at hand. It is recognizing at the end of the day what you have accomplished through the baby steps.

The challenge that I see with the business owner is that he/she is often harder on themselves than anyone else. I notice that in myself. I’ve learned to adjust my thought process to recognize all of the small steps lead to much larger steps and accomplishments.
