James Barbour is an artist, an entrepreneur and a brand! James believes that everyone is an entrepreneur and a brand whether you are a Broadway Star, business owner, teacher or mom. We are our brand and that brand impacts how people see us each and every day. His most recent role on Broadway was as the Phantom in Phantom of the Opera from 2105-2017 and currently works in his company, Star Power, to help others see and embrace their Star Power where he feels he can make an even greater impact.

Host Bio: Allison Turner is the owner of BatCat Media Group, and its subsidiary Dream Plan Start Grow. Her passion lies in assisting entrepreneurs with business coaching and marketing to help bring their vision and business to fruition. She particularly enjoys working with new business owners, guiding them in developing their brand and bringing their vision to life. Allison’s love for entrepreneurship is evident in her desire to educate potential and new business owners about the journey of entrepreneurship. Through exploration and sharing of experiences, she hopes to empower and equip aspiring entrepreneurs with the knowledge they need to succeed.

Guest Bio: James Barbour is on a journey as an artist, entrepreneur and brand! James was nominated for the Drama Desk, Drama League and Outer Critics Awards for Best Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of Sydney Carton in the Broadway musical version of A Tale of Two Cities, and won the Sarasota Magazine Best Actor Award for the Asolo Rep pre-Broadway production. He has starred on Broadway in such Tony-Award winning shows as Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera, Stephen Sondheim’s Assassins, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast as The Beast, Carousel as Billy Bigelow, Urinetown as Officer Lockstock and as Edward Rochester in Jane Eyre (Drama League Award nomination). He also appeared in the Broadway production of Cyrano and the national tour of The Secret Garden.

His voice can be heard on the international recording of A Tale of Two Cities, the PS Classics recording of Assassins, the Sony Classical cast recording of Jane Eyre, The Gift on Geffen Records, the upcoming release of Frank Wildhorn’s Dracula, as well as on the live CD recording of his self-produced stage show Broadway in Concert (for which he won an LA WEEKLY Garland Award).

As an author and producer, James is responsible for creating three concert series, James Barbour: The Holiday Concert and Love Songs (both at New York City’s famed Sardi’s Restaurant) and Back From Broadway/Broadway in Concert (the latter in conjunction with Steinway Concert Artist Hershey Felder).

Currently, he continues to build his brand, Star Power, and released a book, The Artist’s Survival Guide, during the pandemic, which is written to help artists and struggling entrepreneurs and business owners.
